The closed free trade port area is designed as 8.37 square kilometers,. and divided into water port area and airport area.

   The closed water port area is 2.43 square kilometers, close to the largest foreign trade container hub port of Yangtze River upstream—Cuntan Port, and dedicated to bonded logistics, storage, trade, settlement and exhibition functions.

   The closed airport area is 5.94 square kilometers, fully connected with Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, dedicated to bonded processing, logistics, trade, settlement, R&D and maintenance functions.

   The Free Trade Port Area strives to have total investment amount of RMB 50 billion Yuan, be integrated with 30km2 supportive industrial production area in Chongqing, create 100,000.00 job opportunities, and have resident population of 300,000.00 in the airport new town preliminarily by 2017. At that time, the Free Trade Port Area will have container import and export capacity of 1 million standard containers and realize the bonded logistic goods value of USD 25 billion.
